I have the right
and need to express my conscience opinion
In 1985 the New Zealand
Government passed
The Adoption Bill where by an Adoptee was able to apply to the Registrar General for their Original Birth Certificate and
providing no veto was in situ hence in my case there was no veto because I was eventually notified of an appointment time
to uplift my certificate from the then Social Welfare Department’s Adoption Office in ChristChurch.
I was in fact furnished with very little indeed no actual credible identifying documentation
at all
I was palmed with a part
Health Note with no identification of to whom it belongs plus another piece of paper containing a meagre few lines again not
identifying any person
Not entirely satisfied with what was furnished to me I initiated several sporadic telephone
conversations with the person with whom I then dealt always receiving denials that no further documentation existed.
Still not satisfied and in 2002 I learnt of a staff change at the now C.Y.P.F.S. Adoption
Section and duly launched an inquiry to ascertain the existence of further documentation I wasn’t surprised to learn
that there was Mrs White’s Foster License and
the most crucial document of all a C.W. – 20 upon which “Ink Pen” entries state I was born at Nazareth House and that my maintenance of 15/- fifteen shillings was being paid through the Sisters at Nazareth House but not who the payer was. The document also contains
an entry in the name of Peter Erskine Carmody lightly struck out with
one stroke of the Ink Pen and replaced with Peter Eustace Carmine.
The non furnishing of this C.W. - 20 obviously deprived me of fifteen years chances of discussing
it's conntents with persons whom are now dead including my mother Dora.
Persons reading through this site will discover every piece of my paper
trail.
However in June 2003 I initiated a written request quoting Section 6 Principal 6 of the
Privacy Act for Sister Bernard Mary present charge of Nazareth House here in ChristChurch to provide
me with specific information relevant to my birth occurring at Nazareth House in ChristChurch.
My in all three letter’s to Sister Bernard Mary and Sister Bernard Mary’s replies
are contained on this site as is the Notification of my mothers Marriage which was officiated by her Priestly Cousin
Fr Eugene Carmine
in my this document could attest to the fact I had been lied to many years earlier when I was told they couldn’t help
me find my mother.
To the best of my knowledge no reply to my letter of the 22nd June 2003 has been received.
All to and fro e-mail communication
with the Nazareth House Regional Superior are contained on this site.
